1836 HD LLC is seeking experienced Heavy-Duty Diesel & RV Technicians to join our growing team in Seguin, Texas.

Unlike most repair facilities, we service an incredibly diverse range of equipment. Our technicians work both inside our shop and in the field, supporting customers throughout Seguin, San Antonio, Austin, and the surrounding Central Texas region.

What You'll Work On

Our technicians routinely diagnose, repair, and maintain:

  • Heavy-duty diesel trucks (Class 7 & 8)
  • Medium-duty trucks
  • Fleet vehicles
  • Semi-trucks and tractors
  • Heavy-duty trailers
  • Agricultural equipment
  • Construction equipment
  • Diesel engines
  • Diesel-powered generators
  • RV generators
  • Class A diesel motorhomes
  • Class A gas motorhomes
  • Class C motorhomes
  • Fifth wheels
  • Travel trailers
  • Commercial diesel equipment

No two days are alike, making this an excellent opportunity for technicians who enjoy variety and expanding their technical skills.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems.
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, cooling, fuel, air brake, and drivetrain systems.
  • Complete preventive maintenance services and inspections.
  • Diagnose and repair diesel generators and RV generators.
  • Service RV and motorcoach chassis systems.
  • Perform occasional field welding and light fabrication repairs.
  • Assist with larger fabrication and welding projects in the shop when needed.
  • Complete accurate electronic work orders and technician notes.
  • Communicate professionally with customers, management, and the Service Coordinator.
  • Represent 1836 HD with professionalism, integrity, and exceptional customer service.

Required Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

  • Diesel schooling or certification through Universal Technical Institute (UTI), ASE, or another accredited diesel training program.
  • Minimum three (3) years of heavy-duty diesel repair experience.
  • Experience servicing:

    • Heavy-duty trucks
    • Medium-duty trucks
    • Heavy-duty trailers
    • Agricultural equipment
    • Construction equipment
    • Diesel-powered equipment
  • Welding experience is required. Candidates must be comfortable performing field welding repairs and basic fabrication when necessary. Larger fabrication projects are typically completed in our shop, but technicians should be capable of safely completing repairs in the field.
  • Experience servicing RV generators and commercial diesel generators.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other technicians.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Compensation & Advancement

Base Compensation

  • $22.00–$40.00 per hour, based on experience, certifications, diagnostic ability, productivity, and overall qualifications.

Shop & Hybrid Positions

This position primarily supports our Seguin headquarters and includes both shop and mobile service work throughout Central Texas.
